The Mama Bakhita provides free therapeutic and educational services for children with disabilities. Most of our projects have evolved from our relationship with these children and their families.

The Zambezi Communal Farm
In 2021, the AACDP funded a purchase of land to start a communal farm. The farmers are the mothers of children with disabilities served by the Mama Bakhita.

In 2010 we started the Zambezi Doll Company to provide the Mama Bakhita women a source of income. They have turned into a true cooperative, producing beautiful one-of-a-kind dolls.

Educational Sponsorships
The AACDP has supported young people we know from the Mama Bakhita community from our earliest days. Most of these families have never been able to afford consistent schooling for their children. We help by finding funds for primary and secondary school students, and sponsors for those seeking higher education.

Emergency Relief
The AACDP sends relief for the community's survival during and after natural disasters, such as COVID-19, the 2014 flood in Jack Mwanapapa, and the catastrophic drought of 2019.
