The Persephone Parading up Circuit Avenue raising money for Zambian disabled children

On Saturday, April 2,  children, adults and puppets of all sizes marched up Circuit Avenue, Oak Bluffs, MA to the Shephard Fine ArtSpace where goddess puppets danced to ancient music performed by the West Tisbury Congregational Bell choir, and the Persephone Myth was enacted by Spindrift Marionettes.

Many community members participated in this event bringing food, artwork, music and poetry. Together we raised $2500 for the African Artists Community Development Project that supports disabled and economically disadvantaged Zambian children and provides income generation projects for women and families trying to get past the sharp edges of survival.
